At
1200 meters, Mount Abu is the highest point of the Aravalli range
passing through Rajasthan. The only hill resort of Rajasthan, it
is mainly built around a lake and is surrounded by forested hills.
Besides having all the features of a pleasant hill resort, Mount
Abu is also well known for its famous Dilwara Temples and many more
archeological remains, interesting treks and picnic spots, the romantic
royal retreats of the various erstwhile families of bygone Rajputana
and some relics of the Raj period.
How To Get There
By Air : The nearest airport to Mount Abu is Udaipur from where
one can hire a taxi to get to Mount Abu, or travel by bus.
By Rail : The nearest railway station is Abu Road. Abu Road is
conneted to both Ahmedabad and Jodhpur by train. From Abu Road one
can take a taxi, a jeep or a bus to Mount Abu.
By Road : Ahmedabad is 222kms via Palampur. Jodhpur is 264kms via
Sirochi and Pali, by road.

Wildlife In Rajasthan
Ranthambore National Park : Earlier the hunting preserve of the
Maharajas of Jaipur, the Park at Ranthambore was once the scene
of royal hunting parties. Today, it is famous for its tigers and
is one of the best places in the country to see these majestic predators
in the wild.
Ranthambore has large numbers of sambar, chital and nilgai. Sounders
of boar and an occasional gazelle, the chinkara, can be seen.

Keoladeo Ghana National Park
Just 176km from Delhi is a very special wilderness the Keoladeo
Ghana National Park, one of the finest water bird sanctuaries in
the world. The 28.73 sq km lake and wetland was artificially created
by the Maharaja of Bharatpur in the 19th Century. Every year Bharatpur
waits with bated breath for the arrival of the Siberian cranes.
The forests around the lake at Bharatpur harbour the sambar, chital,
nilgai, jackal, hyena, fox,mongoose and porcupine.
Keoladeo Ghana National Park
